Well... do to unfortunate circumstances, our Christmas CD will not be arriving this holiday season. Yes, you read that right. The upside is that we may add even more songs to it for next year (yes, some are already in the can, but you'll have to wait). So, instead we have been working on original material for our new album. We would like to promise it in due time as well, however, do to our track record, it's certainly possible that it won't be out until fall 2006. Yes, you read that right as well. In other news, we took home the Tulsa World Spot Music Award for Best Pop Act. It's our fourth time to receive that award and we're grateful for everyone who voted.

September 15,
2005

Addendum to the previous news: Also available now is an assortment of 5 Admiral Twin Logo buttons (click here). Now you can affix the AT logo to your favorite jacket, purse, or fish. Also, if you're in the Oklahoma City area, John & Jarrod will be the backup band for David Lon at the Oklahoma City State Fair from September 15th through the 23rd. You can see show times and other info by visiting Dave's website.

September 14, 2005

Available now are two new Admiral Twin logo t-shirts which you can get by clicking here. Up until now these shirts have only been available at our concerts. New products are in the works. So please check back for updates. Things are going well with the Christmas CD. We're still finalizing the last batch of songs to be included. After that we will be pushing forth with our new CD of original material. It is possible that our Christmas CD will be available on iTunes only this season and then available on compact disc next Christmas season. However, no real final decision has been made. Check back soon for more information.

Well, once again we have been nominated for "Best Pop Act" for this year's Tulsa World Spot Music Awards. If you feel so inclined, please head over and VOTE for us. We're thankful to have been considered every year since the inception of the "Spotniks". This is the seventh year we've been honored with a nomination (we've actually received four awards). In other news, the fine folks at Wal-Mart have seen fit to make our CD Unlucky available for download at their website for the low, low cost of only .88 cents per song. We're glad to now officially be a participant in their "Roll-Back" prices. And finally, there are now a few videos posted on the Admiral Twin TELEVISION page for your enjoyment.

July 19, 2005

We are still in the studio working on new original music and new Christmas songs simultaneously. Creatures of Bread & Wine is available in stores nationwide today. Check with your local retailer for availability. The following is a list of radio stations where you can request the song "On & On." You should only contact stations that pertain to your area. Thanks for all your support.

Thanks to everyone who supported us at Mayfest this year. We enjoyed ourselves onstage and really appreciated everyone who stopped by our merch booth and bought something. We also would like to thank all of our lovely helpers who worked that day including Craig, Zuri, Stephen, Syke, Karen, April, Anita, "lil" Marty, Jen, Danielle, Rachael, and anyone else that we may have so foolishly forgotten. We'd also like to thank Gary Hizer and the entire Mayfest staff and the stage crew who were so courteous to us. And of course we'd also like to thank our good friends Ike, Tay, & Zac for sharing the stage (and their tour bus) that day.

It's back to business as usual here. That is, in regard to playing the Tulsa clubs. We are working on more tour plans. However, there is nothing new to report just yet. We are also currently back in the studio working on some new original music and a final batch of Christmas songs. "Final" might sound strong, but the point is that after this batch is completed, our entire cannon of Christmas recordings will be compiled into a full-length album which we hope to make available this fall. So, the previous Christmas EPs will remain out-of-print in the future and may feature some differences in terms of audio mastering and whatnot.

In other news, John has just finished editing a new documentary (directed by Ashley Greyson) about 3CG recording artists Hanson titled STRONG ENOUGH TO BREAK. He has also composed the score for the film. The documentary will be screening in festivals and colleges later this year.

Greetings. We've just inked a deal with Central South/Infinity Distribution to release "Creatures of Bread & Wine" nationwide on July 19th. So, if you haven't already purchased our CD, then please ask for it in your local record store on or after the aforementioned release date. We would be much obliged. Further tour dates are still in the works. And in other news, along with "Creatures of Bread & Wine," our first CD "Unlucky" is now available on iTunes for your downloading pleasure. Peace.

April

Nashville was a whirlwind trip. Since it was a direct flight (in our band van) it made for a very long traveling experience. That and the fact that we jumped in the van to leave, rolled five feet and got a flat tire (no kidding). We also had the sudden realization that we needed a new radiator cap and that our tag had expired. Miraculously, we took care of all that, had some BBQ, and then got down the road without having lost the whole day. We are eternally grateful to our friend Shay who let us take over her humble abode while we were in Nashville. None of us got any sleep however. We had early morning interviews with various music affiliated sites and magazines which had been previously set up. The rest of the day was spent hob-knobbing with a large variety of industry folk, as the hotel that our interviews were setup at was inundated with people in town for the GMA awards and CMT awards, which may seem a little unusual, however in the music industry all lines get crossed. All the festivities ran late into the night, hence our enormous lack of sleep. Our show at the Five Spot went very well. The turnout was great and thankfully a few friends made the journey from Tulsa to Nashville to give their support. (Thanks girls!).

March 14, 2005

"THAT'S ALL RIGHT" hits rock radio on March 18. The song has been serviced to stations in NY, PA, ME, CT, NJ, VA, FL, KY, SC, TN, TX, OK, NM, MN, MO, NE, MI, IL, WI, OH, & CA. Which doesn't mean that it will get picked up for sure in all of those territories, just that they have received the song. Again, we'll keep you posted. And, we want to remind you that we will be touring up in Illinois, Kansas, and Tennessee next month. And FYI, this summer we'll be touring the west coast. Be sure and check out the concerts page for more info on dates and venues. Oh yeah, you absolutely do not want to miss our Mayfest show in Tulsa on May 20th. It's going to be a familiar double bill that usually makes a lot of females very happy. At least, that's been our experience.

'nuff said!

March 2, 2005

Updates are coming soon. In the meantime, if you are a fan of animation and or the classic Walt Disney films (pre-the last ten years) then you should hop over to Roy Disney's (Walt's nephew) website SaveDISNEY.com where there is a wealth of information about what's going on with the Disney legacy and the inside scoop on bumbling CEO Michael Eisner. What does this have to do with Admiral Twin or music you say? Well actually, it has everything to do with what is wrong with the entertainment industry in general. Art vs. commerce, etc. as told most revealingly in an eleven part series on the Disney company from the late Seventies through today that paints a portrait of how art is continually compromised by the suits in power. See the parallel? Ever wonder why all the PIXAR animated movies (Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc.) are so great, while most of the Disney animated flicks of the last ten years (Brother Bear, Emperor's New Groove, Home On The Range, etc.) have been fairly lackluster? That gets addressed as well. The answer is no surprise: PIXAR films are created by the artists themselves!

Highly recommended reading.

Calling all cars! Calling all cars! Admiral Twin needs your vote!

No, not us, but rather our namesake, the Admiral Twin Drive-In Movie Theater right here in Tulsa. Apparently, Hampton® Hotels -Save-A-LandmarkTM program has won the SMITHSONIAN Magazine/Travelers Conservation Foundation(TCF) Sustainable Tourism Award! With this award, Hampton receives a cash prize of $20,000, which will be put towards the refurbishing of a future landmark. Vote here for the landmark Hampton should refurbish. There are two choices, the Admiral Twin Drive-In (again, our namesake and the ultimate 50's hangout in the Frances Ford Coppola film, The Outsiders) and one of the Bridges of Madison County (Iowa) made famous by the book and film of the same name. Clint Eastwood can fund the latter. We need you to vote for the former. Supposedly you can vote everyday through March 31st. Just do it!

(Thanks to Zuri Louis for the heads up on this tidbit).

January 20, 2005

Welcome to the machine. The band is currently working on some business deals to finally once and for all make 2005 the year that Admiral Twin comes to your town, or at least within a few hundred miles of it maybe. And for once things are looking quite probable...really!  After all, next December will be the 10th anniversary of Mark, Jarrod, & John performing together. Yes, there will be something special happening when the time comes. Maybe even a few things.

Work on the new album, that had commenced a couple of months ago, has been somewhat stalled as Jarrod has been commissioned to do a painting, John has been tapped to edit and score a documentary film, and Mark is having a Tupperware party. But no worries, things will be back on track very soon.
